All Saints' PS defeated in Indoor Gaelic final for the St Conor's Shield
Our 2019-2020 Gaelic team battled superbly to make it through to the final of the St Conor's Shield in a recent tournament held in the Station Centre, in honour of a former governor of St Conor's PS (Ronnie Kelly).
The team qualified from the group stages to meet Omagh Integrated PS (OIPS) in the semi-final. After going 2 nil up, the OIPS fought back with two late goals to make it two each at the final whistle. The match then went into extra time and after playing two halves of extra time the match was still tied, which left no other option but to go to a penalty shootout.
A very tense time ensued with both teams missing one penalty out of 5, which meant we had to go to a sudden death shoot-out.
Thankfully, our team scored the next goal and our keeper pulled off an fantastic save to deny OIPS and send our team through to the final against a strong St Conor's team.
Sadly, St Conor's, (who have over 50 P7 pupils to pick from, compared to our 15) overpowered us in the final, defeating us by a score of 4-1.
Nonetheless, the team came away with well deserved runners' up medals and smiles. Congratulations boys for a brilliant effort. You did our school proud once again.
