As part of our topic on 'Peter Rabbit', we are focussing our learning on outdoors. This week we have been busy making rabbit stew in the mud kitchen; the children had fun mixing mud, water and cutting/mixing the vegetables. In our Role Play area, the children took on the role of a 'Greengrocer', sorting fruit from vegetables; using real money; interacting with customers which develops their vocabulary and social skills.
In our mark making/ writing area, children were encouraged to explore characters from using Beatrix Potter books through independent mark making and writing. We have also been busy using chalk on the playground.
Water has been a bit hit with R/P1 and we are exploring floating and sinking as part of our topic.
