Minibeasts
Theme 1: Spiders
This term we are learning about minibeasts and over the last two weeks we have focused on spiders. The children have expressed an interest in how spiders move and how they catch flies. The children have been busy making magnetic spiders using paper clips! With all the concentration and effort during lessons you could have heard a pin drop! The children were engaged, concentrating hard, making sure their spider had the most paper clips. We had great fun using magnetic wands to move the spiders and we hope to develop this further!
From making magnetic spiders to making sticking webs! We had a great conversation about how spiders catch their prey. We talked about the hard work the spider puts into making their web sticky and strong. I have to say, our children were busy spiders! Independently, they used a hole puncher and rolled sellotape to make the web sticky. We will be trying out our spider catchers and will let you know how we get on.
