Year One Valentine Assembly
Such a fantastic morning! 'Love was in the air' and the Reception & P1 children were the real 'stars of the show' who truly 'shared the love' with their parents and everyone else who attended our very special 'VALENTINE'S DAY ASSEMBLY'.
There wasn't a dry eye in the house as the children performed Frank Sinatra's L-O-V-E, and boy did they give it their all (...eat your heart out Frank!). We, and all the attending parents, are all so very proud of them for their fantastic performance and a huge big THANK YOU to Mrs Tierney, Miss McLaughlin and student teacher, Miss Harkin, for preparing the children for their assembly.
The Y6/7's, under the guidance of Mrs Kirwan and Miss Murray, presented a visual presentation on 'The Story of St. Valentine' which was rounded-off with a heart-warming rendition of 'We All Need More Kindness In This World'.
But the final cheers and applause was reserved for the brilliant Reception/P1's as they belted out for one last time Mr Sinatra's old classic ...L-O-V-E. This was rounded off with tea, juice and refreshments for the guests and children before the tired, but proud, R/Y1's returned to their class.
A very special 'Thank You' to all the support staff for assisting with the preparation and refreshments and our tech-wizard 'Sean' for organising the sound and visual aspects. Thanks also to all the parents and Chair of the Board of Governors, Mr Aidan Taggart for attending the assembly.
